A letter from an old shelf part 1

January 6th, 2008

PROLOGUE: I was going over my old stuffs, segregating those useful ones from the rest that are worth discarding…and yet I found this letter…Pondering upon the words written, I was reminded once again that this has been the source of my strength through the years…There were instances that I kept on reading the lines, deciphering every thoughts which the author was trying to convey to my seemingly immature understanding of what life has in store for me as I claim my most coveted space…Now, I would swear to myself that this letter made sense after all…I was really helped…I was told the truth…The challenge posed on me made me a stronger person…I had a better grip somehow of the intricacies of life, love and relationship…Read On…

My dear Philip,

It is indeed time to claim you space!

Life has been tough. Life has been rushing fast- you might miss to cherish it. A closer look however at our experiences of pain leads us to find joy. In life, very often the essentials are not as dichotomized as we imagine. Joy and sorrow are not just opposites only- they are often closely intertwined forming only a singular thread called LIFE.

The space that you will claim will make you grow. It will also teach you how to love truly. And when the right time and opportunity comes-you will experience that LOVE in its purity. Just don’t hurry. There are usual stages that have to be gone through.

You are young and promising. Remain faithful, open, generous and honest (RELATIONSHIP). The future will have a promise of peace for you. It’s actually starting now- as you claim your space.

God will always be with you. Unworthy as I am, I will also keep you in my loving embrace. SEIZE THE DAY!

EPILOGUE: Somebody told me before that all of us are like angels, but only having one wing…we need each other in order to fly….It’s amazing to realize how this short piece of advice has changed my life…
